JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven women's basketball team will hit the road to take on American Southwest Conference (ASC) East leading UT Dallas on Thursday evening before wrapping up the quick, two-game road swing with the Ozarks on Saturday afternoon.
Thursday's contest will be held at the UTD Activities Center at 5:30 p.m., while Saturday's game will be at 1 p.m. from the Mabee Gymnasium. Both games will be broadcast on the Blazers Sports Network.
The Blazers (10-7) have earned team ranks in the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) statistics. Ranked sixth in the latest NCCAA Top 10 Division I Women's Basketball National Rankings, the Green and Gold are ranked 11th in rebounds (41.6), sixth in blocks (4.0), sixth in defensive field goal shooting (35.7 percent) and third in defensive 3-point shooting (23.9 percent).
Inside the Mideast Region of the NCCAA,
Sierra Pittman and
Candler Gregory are in the top 10 in scoring. Pittman is fourth, averaging 14.4 points per contest, while Gregory is eighth with an 11.6 point average.
Vamikka Smith is third in rebounds, averaging 8.4 per game, while
Samara Dingiswayo is the co-leader in blocks, averaging 1.4 blocks per contest.

Winners of 13 of their last 14 games, UT Dallas has been one of the more impressive teams this season in the ASC East. UTD (15-3, 10-1 ASC) may be in the middle of the pack in the conference when they score, the Comets lead the league in points allowed (54.3), scoring margin ( 14), field goal defense (34.9 percent) and second in 3-point shooting defense (27.4 percent).
On the offensive side of the ball, UTD, averaging 68.3 points per game, is third in free throw shooting (71.3 percent), second in field goal percentage (40.8 percent) and tops from downtown (34.8 percent).
Alyssa Crockett leads the Comets in scoring, averaging 13.6 points per game, good for 10th in the ASC. Micaela Gonzalez and Kayla Reinhardt are also averaging double figures with 13.1 and 11.1, respectively.
Gonzalez is second the league in blocks (2.2) and leads the league with a 47.8 percent mark from the field.
In last season's contests, UTD swept the season series, defeating BU 55-48 in Jackson and 70-55 in Richardson.

Ozarks (8-10, 4-7 ASC) comes into the weekend second in the conference in free throw percentage (71.6 percent) and third in field goal shooting (40.7 percent). The Eagles are third in rebounding at 39.2 per game.
Bryanna Moltz is the team leader in scoring (15.6) and is tied for third in the ASC in the category. Delanei Stevens and Diamond Goodwin handle the ball off the glass, averaging 8.1 and 7.6, respectively.
UO also swept the season series in 2015-16, taking down the Blazers 67-59 in Jackson and 65-63 in Clarksville, Ark.
