JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven Softball honored six seniors on Saturday and defeated Mary Hardin-Baylor 5-0 to complete the three-game sweep on Saturday afternoon at McLeod Field.

Prior to first pitch on Saturday, the Blazers honored
Julienne Broussard,
Dani Craft,
Makenzie Hawkins,
Taylor O'Dell,
Carly Yasses and
Haley Yasses for their recognition and time with the Belhaven Softball program.

The Blazers (31-6) broke the scoreless draw in the second. After
Carly Yasses reached on an error, the next batter,
Haley Yasses brought her home on an error.

In the fifth,
Makenzie Hawkins brought the run home on an RBI single, scoring
Hannah Holloway.
Â
In the sixth, leading 2-0, the Blazers added three key insurance runs against Mary Hardin-Baylor (19-19).
Haley Yasses started the inning with a single, followed by a
Savannah Lyon's fourth home run of the year. Four batters later, with
Savannah Johnston at second base,
Dani Craft singled home the fifth run of the contest, as Johnston scored.

Julienne Broussard (14-2) went the distance for her seventh shutout and her 10th complete game of the season, allowed two hits, one walk while fanning 10 batters.

The Blazers will now await the schedule of the Mideast Regional Tournament, scheduled for May 11-13.
