JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Blazers fell to the Millsaps Majors 6-2 on Tuesday night from Twenty Field.
Belhaven (13-9) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top half of the first, when
Adam Kowalczyk sent a fly ball over the left field wall. He scored
Terrell Hodges on the play, who drew a walk.
Millsaps (13-12) responded with a run in the bottom of the first and two in the bottom of the second to take the lead, 3-2. The Majors padded the lead in the fourth as they scored three times in the frame to extend the lead to 6-2.
The Blazers only put together four hits since the first inning, with two coming in the ninth.
Jacob Byrd and Hodges hit back-to-back singles, but they would be stranded on base to end the contest.
Justin Atkinson (0-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits.
The Blazers will look to avoid the sweep with Millsaps in the final game of the season series on Wednesday at Twenty Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
