JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's Tennis team suffered its first loss of the 2016 season Saturday afternoon against Jackson State 5-2 at the Jackson State Tennis Facility.
Belhaven (1-1) secured one point each in doubles and singles play, thanks to
Omar Lopez's performance.
In No. 4 singles, Lopez went three sets with counterpart Vishu Prassad. After dropping the first set 3-6, Lopez came-from-behind to defeat Prassad 7-5 and 10-8 to win the match.
In No. 2 doubles, Lopez and
Rene Ramos defeated Federico Mendieta and Prassad 6-4.
Belhaven returns to the court on Wednesday at Millsaps. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
