JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven Volleyball team fell to LeTourneau University 3-1 Friday night on senior night for the Blazers.
After dropping the first set, 21-25, Belhaven recovered for a 25-13 win in set two. However, the Blazers fell in an extended third set 27-29 and then dropped the fourth set 20-25.
The Blazers failed to close out the first and third sets with leading positions in both and were unable to overcome a deficit it what proved to be the final set.
The Blazers attacked at a .144 percentage on the night, while LeTourneau scored at a .165 percentage.
Senior
Chae Levy led the way with 14 kills, while junior
Jackie Gunderson finished with 10 kills. Senior
Molly Boyer also had seven kills.
Kelly Aholt picked up 37 assists in the match.
Up front,
Annelle Anderson led Belhaven with four blocks, while Boyer finished with three and
Lauren Whiting had two.
Abbey Herman led the Blazers on the night with 19 digs, while senior
Cassidy Fitzpatrick had q5 and
Jackie Gunderson finished with 12.
Belhaven will look to rebound Saturday with a 1 p.m. match against East Texas Baptist inside Rugg Arena.
