Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Belhaven women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season, falling 77-54 to Faulkner University. The loss snapped a five game win streak for the Blazers, while the Lady Eagles remain unbeaten in Southern States Athletic Conference play.

Kenya Wright led all scorers with 20 points after connecting on eight shots from the field and a pair of free throws. Wright also highlighted Belhaven's effort on the glass, hauling in six of the team's 32 rebounds.

Kayla Tillman and Savana Flack paced the home team with 14 and 13 points respectively, while Nyla Johnson and Taylor Love also reached double figures. Four different Lady Eagles recorded seven rebounds to help Faulkner best Belhaven 53-32 in that department.

Belhaven made just three of their 24 three-pointers, while their hosts sunk 15 of 39 from behind the arc. The Blazers were much more effective from the free throw line, shooting 56% against the Lady Eagles' 31%.

The Blazers return to action on Monday, when they take on Concordia-Selma on the road in non-conference action. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 pm.
