Coaches: Joe Thrasher (Belhaven-5th Season), Dennis Dunn (Louisiana College 8th Season)

Series vs. Louisiana College (LC leads 3-2): This will be the sixth meeting between the Blazers and Wildcats.

Road Warriors: Saturday night's game will be the first time the team faces a road open this season. Belhaven turned things around in road games last year finishing 2012 with a 3-2 record. In 2011, the Blazers were 0-5 away from the friendly confines of H.T. Newell Field. If Belhaven hopes to make a run at the postseason, playing well on the road is a must.

Quick Stat: Freshman kicker Alonso Acosta stormed onto the scene in his first collegiate contest with an impressive performance against Texas College last week. Acosta connected on three field goals, averaged 59.6 yards per kickoff with three touchbacks, and punted twice for an average of 39 yards. One of his punts landed inside the 20. Although there is just one week in the books this season, Acosta finds himself second in the NAIA in total field goals and third in scoring with 12 points.

Dunklin's Debut: Junior defensive back Brenna Dunklin also shined in his first game as a Blazer. Dunklin was named the Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week after snagging two interceptions. The first INT setup up a Belhaven touchdown after he returned it to the Texas College six yard line and the second stopped a potential Texas College scoring drive when he picked off a pass in the end zone. The Bay St. Louis, MO native also contributed three solo tackles against the Steers.

Player to Watch: This week's player to watch is also on the defensive side of the football. Junior lineman Victor Byers had seven tackles, two sacks and a pass breakup last week. One of Belhaven's strength's on defense is the line and Byers is a big reason why. Byers is third in the NAIA after one week with two sacks and eighth in tackles for a loss. As a team, Belhaven is ninth in the nation in sacks with three.
