"We needed a win, and we are happy with a victory on the road," Belhaven Head Coach Rusty Cram said. "The biggest thing for us was that we were able to overcome adverse situations."

Senior Erika LeFlore added another double-double to her résumé, leading all scorers with 24 points while posting a game-high 13 rebounds. Fellow forward TaShayla Steede snagged 10 rebounds to go with nine points, while guards Ce-Ce Pittman and Kenya Wright added 12 and 11 points respectively.

"They mixed up their looks defensively, but we had several players step up tonight," Cram said. "Erika needed to have a big night, and it came at a good time for team."

Pensacola Christian's Ashley Goins paved the way offensively with 23 points, just a point shy of tying LeFlore. Alyssa Loudermilk followed with 17 points and also contributed a team-high five rebounds.

The Lady Eagles shot 37% from the field, while their guests countered by shooting 38%.Belhaven sunk 23 of 35 from the free throw line, besting Pensacola Christian's 18-27 effort at the stripe. The Blazers will travel to New Orleans for the second time this season on Friday, when they take on Southern University of New Orleans. Tipoff for the non-conference matchup is slated for 2:00.
