Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Belhaven women's basketball team improved to 6-5 on the season with a 70-66 victory over Pensacola Christian College on Saturday evening. The Lady Eagles dropped to 6-3 for the year in the non-conference matchup.

"We needed a win, and we are happy with a victory on the road," Belhaven Head Coach Rusty Cram said. "The biggest thing for us was that we were able to overcome adverse situations."

Erika LeFlore added another double-double to her résumé, leading all scorers with 24 points while posting a game-high 13 rebounds. Fellow forward
TaShayla Steede snagged 10 rebounds to go with nine points, while guards Ce-Ce Pittman and
Kenya Wright added 12 and 11 points respectively.
"They mixed up their looks defensively, but we had several players step up tonight," Cram said. "Erika needed to have a big night, and it came at a good time for team."
Pensacola Christian's Ashley Goins paved the way offensively with 23 points, just a point shy of tying LeFlore. Alyssa Loudermilk followed with 17 points and also contributed a team-high five rebounds.
The Lady Eagles shot 37% from the field, while their guests countered by shooting 38%.Belhaven sunk 23 of 35 from the free throw line, besting Pensacola Christian's 18-27 effort at the stripe. Thanks in large part to LeFlore and Steede, the visiting Blazers won the rebound battle on the glass by a total of 52-31.
The Blazers will travel to New Orleans for the second time this season on Friday, when they take on Southern University of New Orleans. Tipoff for the non-conference matchup is slated for 2:00.
