Series vs. Faulkner (BU Leads 4-1): This will be the sixth meeting between Faulkner and Belhaven in the all time series. The teams have played every year since the inception of Faulkner's football program in 2008. The Blazers picked up a 35-0 in Montgomery a year ago. Faulkner's only win in the series was a 41-31 decision in 2010.

Quick Stat: Even though the defense has struggled at times this season, one area where it has excelled is defending the pass. The Blazers are currently 22nd in the NAIA in pass defense per game, limiting opposing offenses to 179 yards per contest. The Belhaven defense will be tested this week against one of the top passing offenses in the country. Faulkner is 2nd in the NAIA in passing with 404.8 yards per game generated through the air.

Player to Watch: This week's player to watch is defensive back Justin Mims. Mims will be a key component in stopping Faulkner's air raid offense. Mims comes into the game with 45 tackles, but more importantly has 11 pass breakups this year. Included in those totals is one interception. Mims is 8th in the NAIA in passes defender per game at 1.5.

Tale of the Tape: Faulkner has the edge in just about every stat category coming into Saturday's game. The Eagles are averaging 595.6 yards per game compared to Belhaven's 344.6 yards per game. When broken down between the run and the pass, the Eagles lead the stat sheet 190.9-152.1 in rushing and 404.8-192.5 in passing.

Key to the Contest: The key to this week's contest will be the ability for Belhaven's defense to stop Faulkner offensively. Time of possession could also factor into the game on Saturday. Just as important as making stops on defense will be if the offense can sustain long drives to keep the Faulkner offense on the sidelines. The Blazers own a slight edge of 30:32-29:16 minutes over their opponents in time of possession per game this season.
