Clinton, MS- The Belhaven men's and women's cross country competed at the Choctaw Open hosted by Mississippi College on Saturday morning.  Belhaven's men's team finished 11th out of 14th teams in the 8k run logging a team time 2:47:21.38. On the women's side, the Blazers finished 13 out of 15 teams in the 5k run with a time of 1:57:53.34.  Mississippi State placed first on the men's side with a time of 2:13:24.59 and on the women's side South Alabama placed first with a time of 1:34:21.80.

For the Belhaven men, Peter Davis cross the finish line in 45th place out of 105 runners logging a time of 6:00.1. Robert Ricks followed Davis in 69th place with a time of 6:26.8. Gabriel Prado came in 79th place followed by Isaiah Tolo (88th) and Andrew Sinclair (89th).

Sarah McCallister finished in 70th place out of 110 runners with a time of 7:26.4. Blazer runners Chloe Brown, and Sarah Rivera finished consecutively in places 71st, 72nd and 73rd with times all within two seconds apart. Jackie Bateman rounded out the Blazer runners in 81st place.

The Blazers are set to take their marks again on Saturday as they travel to the Southeast Classic in Rome, GA. The women are slated to begin at 9:00 AM while the men will compete at 10:00 AM.
