Regena Jackson joins the Belhaven Athletics' Hall of Fame class this year in recognition of her outstanding playing career for the Blazers that spanned the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. Jackson's career was highlighted by her stellar offensive play in which she showcased prowess as a scorer and a creator for Belhaven.
Jackson is a member of the Women's Basketball 1,000-point Scorer's Club (1,141) alongside just 14 other players as well as ranking inside the top 10 in career assists (271), three-point field goals made (80) and free throws made (333).
The Louisiana native put together one of the most impressive single-seasons in program history in the 2011-12 campaign. That season Jackson set the program record for a single-season scoring average at 24.0 points per game and trails only Becky Lee (1980-81) in total points at 745. She also holds the distinction of being the only player in program history to score 40 or more points in a single-game twice.
Jackson also holds the single-season free throws made record (227) and free throw percentage record (.850) while also ranking inside the top 10 in assists, steals, field goals made and three-point field goals made.
Jackson's career success took national notice as well with the star being named an NAIA All-American in both 2010-11 and 2011-12. Her 2011-12 season earned an NAIA First Team All-American nod while helping the Blazers to a 26-7 record, the Southern States Athletic Conference title and an NAIA Tournament appearance.
