One of this week's "Cellular South Athletes of the Week" is Alex Williams of the Belhaven football team. Williams, a sophomore quarterback from Covington, LA, was named Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week after an outstanding performance in which he completed 20 of his 35 pass attempts for 377 yards and five touchdowns against the Blue Raiders. On the season, he now has 11 touchdowns and boasts a 60.1 completion percentage. He is averaging 286 yards passing per game, leads the NAIA in total passing yards (1144), and total offense (1,276 yards). Just as important, Williams has taken care of the football with only two interceptions through the first four games of 2010.

Williams also leads the MSC in total offense per game (319 yards), passing yards per game (386) and touchdown passes (11).
