One of this week's "Cellular South Athletes of the Week" is Alex Williams of the Belhaven football team. Williams, a sophomore quarterback from Covington, LA, was named Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week after he completed 31 of 42 passes for 317 yards and two touchdowns. One of his touchdowns passes came with 34 seconds left for the game winner. On the game winning drive Williams went 6 for 6 including the eight yard TD that clinched the win. More importantly, he did not throw any interceptions and for the season and has five touchdown passes and only one interception through the first two games of 2010. Williams not only made it happen with his arm, he also ran for 73 yards and was the Blazers leading rusher on the night averaging 7.3 yards per carry.

Williams leads the MSC averaging 313 yards of total offense per game. He leads the NAIA in total offense (626 yards) and total passing (535).
