Belhaven University Athletics

One of this weeks Cellular South Athletes of the Week is Christina Jaques of the Belhaven softball team. Jaques, a junior shortstop from Orange, TX, compiled a .417 batting average with a triple and a run batted in. Jaques was also three for four in stolen bases. Jaques was selected to the GCAC All-Conference Team this weeke for her play in the field and at the plate. Jaques has had a big year for Belhaven leading the team in hitting with a .480 batting average including eight home runs, seven triples, nine doubles and 43 RBI’s. Jaques is second on the team and in the NAIA in stolen bases with 56 steals in 65 attempts.
