Belhaven University Athletics

One of the this Week's Cellular South Athletes of the Week is Sarah Burns of the Belhaven softball team. She was also selected as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her efforts against LSU-Alexandria and Williams Baptist College February 16th-20th. Burns, a junior from Edmond, OK, earned three wins this week and threw a five inning perfect game against Williams Baptist College. In those three games, Burns recorded a total of 25 strikeouts, gave up just five hits, and surrendered only two unearned runs in 19 total innings in the circle. Burns is now 4-0, has 27 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.72 in her four appearances so far this season.
