Belhaven University Athletics

Jimmy Gilford of the Belhaven baseball team was selected as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his efforts against Mississippi College February 10th and is one of this week's Cellular South Athletes of the Week. Gilford, a junior outfielder from Taneytown, MD, went two for three at the plate and slammed his second home run of the season to lead the Blazers to a 4-3 win over the Choctaws. On the season, Gilford is hitting .409 with two home runs and is tied for the team lead in RBI’s with eight.
