Belhaven junior pitcher Valiree Blair has been named C Spire Athlete of the Week, following her dominating performance in the circle over the weekend against LeTourneau.

Blair helped the Blazers achieve a season series sweep over the YellowJackets, after tossing her first complete game shutout of the year in the Blazers' 4-0 win in game three of the series. She also struck out three batters, and gave up only four hits in the victory.

On the season, Blair has posted a 3-3 record inside the circle through 44.1 innings pitched. Along with a 3.47 earned run average, she has also struck out 16 batters and registered one save.

The Green and Gold return to the diamond this weekend in Belton, Texas for their final three games of the season against Mary-Hardin Baylor beginning on Friday at 5 p.m.
