Belhaven freshman Jordan Goffner has been named the C Spire Athlete of the Week, following her performance at the Mike McMillan Invitational in Clinton, Miss. 

Goffner earned a Belhaven school record in the long jump at the McMillan Invitational, smashing the previous mark of 5.03 meters with a 5.58-meter jump, good for fourth place out of 18 competitors. Goffner's mark is also the 10th-best in all of NCAA Division III this season.

The Jackson native also cleared 9.94 meters in the triple jump to finish sixth place in the event. 

The Belhaven men's and women's track and field teams return to action on April 8, traveling to Memphis, Tenn. to compete in the Rhodes College 6-Way Invitational.
