JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven infielder JG Miley has been named the  C Spire Athlete of the Week following his performances on the diamond against Berry College and Trinity University. 

Milley went 2-for-3 with a triple, two walks and three runs scored as Blazers baseball earned a season-opening 10-6 victory over Berry. The senior from Tupelo, Miss. then put together a 3-4 performance in a 10-6 win over No. 7 Trinity, while also tallying two stolen bases, a double and an RBI.

For the week, Miley recorded a .714 batting average, .800 on-base percentage and a 1.143 slugging percentage. 

Belhaven returns to action this weekend, hosting McMurry University in a three-game set. The Blazers and the Warhawks will play a doubleheader on Friday, beginning at 4 p.m., and wrap up the series with a 1 p.m. game on Saturday.
