JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven guard Samara Dingiswayo has been named the C Spire Athlete of the Week following her performances on the court this past weekend at Louisiana College and East Texas Baptist.Â
The senior drained a season best six 3-pointers in the Blazers win against East Texas Baptist last Saturday, finishing with a season-best 22 points. This marks her first 20-point performance as a member of the Green and Gold.Â
On the week, the Oakland, Calif. native finished with 28 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and three steals to help the Blazers extend their winning streak to five games.
Dingiswayo and the rest of the Blazers return to the hardwood on Thursday, as they host LeTourneau inside Rugg Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
