JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven junior guard Tajee Harper was selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week following her performance on the hardwood this past week against Millsaps and Rhodes. 

The East Mississippi Community College transfer began her Belhaven career by coming off the bench for 13 points in each of Belhaven's victories, while averaging 16.5 minutes. 

The Jackson, Miss. native shot 53 percent (9-for-17) from the field, and she went 8-for-10 from the charity stripe, including a perfect 5-for-5 against Millsaps.

She also totaled eight rebounds and four steals to help the Blazers to a 2-0 start to the 2016-17 campaign. 

Harper and the rest of the Blazers will next take on Huntingdon Tuesday night inside Rugg Arena at 5:30 p.m.
