JACKSON, MIss. - Belhaven junior defensive back Latevinan Glass was selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week following his performance in Saturday's football against third-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor.Â
The junior stopped a Crusader drive that was in the red zone late in the first quarter. After a seven yard rush by UMHB's Duane Thompson, Glass popped the ball out at the Blazers 9-yard line and recovered the ball at the nine.Â
In the second quarter, the Senatobia, Miss. native stopped another UMHB drive, intercepting a Blake Jackson pass and returning the pick to the Blazers 30-yard line.Â
Glass also recorded six tackles and broke up one pass.Â
Glass and the rest of the Blazers will conclude the 2016 season on Saturday with a trip to Howard Payne. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. from Brownwood, Texas.Â
