JACKSON, Miss. - Junior runner Brooklyn Schumaker was tabbed as the C Spire Athlete of the Week following her top-five finish at the Goucher College Cross Country Classic in Towson, Md. this past Saturday. 

Schumaker finished in fourth place (out of 45 runners) with a time of 26:55.1 in the 6K race.

She competed with other Division III schools from the northeast including Stevenson College (Md.), McDaniel College (Md.) and Notre Dame (Md.) in the meet. 

Schumaker and the Blazers will return to run in their second race at Choctaw Trails this season at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open Saturday morning in Clinton.
