JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven wide receiver LaMiquell Roberts was named the C Spire Athlete of the Week following his performance in the Blazers' 28-25 season-opening win over Riverside rival Millsaps College on Thursday, Sept. 1. 
 
Roberts put together a record-breaking performance against the Majors, recording a Belhaven single game record 220 yards through the air, topping the previous record of 208. The senior from Mobile, Ala. also caught 14 passes, tying the school's single game record set by Cordario Calvin in 2010.

Roberts scored the Blazers' lone touchdown of the first half, hauling in a 13-yard reception at the 7:21 mark of the second quarter.  

The Blazers head to Whitewater, Wisc. for next Saturday's game against the nationally ranked Warhawks of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The game is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
