JACKSON, Miss. – Josh Gaskin was selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week following his performance on Tuesday, November 17 at Emory University.
Gaskin finished with a double-double, the second of his career, in the season opener. He led all players in the game with 10 rebounds and had the second most points of any player, finishing with 19.
More impressive, the senior from Vicksburg, Mississippi finished the night nearly perfect from the floor, shooting 9-for-10 against the top-25 ranked Eagles.
Gaskin and the rest of the Blazers will next play Millsaps tonight before setting their sights on conference play after the Thanksgiving Break. The tip is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Hangar Dome.
