JACKSON, Miss. – Candler Gregory was selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week following her performance on Friday, November 13 at Rhodes College.
Gregory matched career highs in points scored and free throws made in the Blazers only game last week at Rhodes College.
The Hampton, Ga. native collected 16 points, with six coming from the free throw line, in 37 minutes of action for the Blazers. The junior guard led all players in scoring in the season opener.
It is just the second time that Gregory has led Belhaven in scoring.
Gregory and the rest of the Belhaven Women's Basketball team will resume play after the Thanksgiving holiday. The Blazers will host Mary Hardin-Baylor in the home opener on Thursday, December 3. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Rugg Arena.
