JACKSON, Miss. – Junior defensive back Alvin Vaughn is selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week with his performance on Saturday, October 17.

Alvin Vaughn had a standout performance for the Blazers on Saturday, making impact plays all over the field for Belhaven. Vaughn helped force two turnovers, including one that led directly to a Blazers touchdown, which gave Belhaven the lead.

The junior had his first career interception in the Blazers 42-33 victory over Warner. He also caused a fumble, which Belhaven recovered as part of six turnovers forced by the defense in the game. Vaughn was the leading tackler for Belhaven as well in the contest, recording 11 tackles.

The Blazers will next travel to Marshall, Texas to take on East Texas Baptist. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 at 6 p.m. at Ornelas Stadium.
