JACKSON, Miss. – Sophomore forward Lucas Talaviera-Befi is selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week with his performance effective September 7 to September 12.
Befi scored his first three goals of the season this past week, scoring two goals against Transylvania on September 7. On September 12 at Covenant, Befi notched his third goal of the season that tied the match at one in the 53rd minute. With five minutes remaining in regulation, Befi contributed on the eventual game-winning goal by assisting Cillian Thompson.
So far this season, Befi is 3-for-13 shooting (.231 shooting percentage) with two assists and the three goals.
The Blazers will make their home opener on Thursday, September 17 to face off against Mary Hardin-Baylor. The ASC opener is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Belhaven Bowl.
