JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven Baseball Player Paul Pickerrell has been named the C Spire Athlete of the Week after his performance last week in five games for the Blazers.

Pickerrell hit .556 for the week after going 10-for-18 at the plate. He had a pair of doubles and a homerun to slug .833 over the five-game stretch and also had six runs scored and 10 runs batted in.
 
The senior also had three walks on the week, which gave him a .619 on base percentage. On the base paths, Pickerrell was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
 
The Blazers went 4-1 over the week, including picking up conference wins against Bethel and Middle Georgia. The week also included Belhaven head coach Hill Denson’s 1000th win against Tougaloo.

Pickerrell and the rest of the Blazers Baseball team will return to action on March 25, with a the opener of the Cowboy Maloney Series at Mississippi College before hosting Auburn-Montgomery in a three-game series at the weekend.
