De'la Mayers is this weeks C SPIRE Athlete of the Week after recording a double in each of last weekend's Southern States Athletic Conference games. Mayers was one of four Blazers in double figures against Brewton-Parker on Friday, and the Oak Grove, Louisiana hauled in a game-best 12 rebounds. In Saturday's game against Middle Georgia State, Mayers led all players in two categories, finishing his night with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Blazers are back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on NCAA Division-I Arkansas State in an exhibition.Â
