Belhaven University Athletics

This week's C Spire "Athlete of the Week" is Jordan Bedford of the men's basketball team. Bedford, a junior guard from Covington, La, had an outstanding week for the Blazers, scoring a career high 37 points against Bethel followed by a 24 point performance against Blue Mountain College. Belhaven won both of those contests to stay in third place in the SSAC West Division. Bedford shot over 50 percent from the field for the week and hit over 60 percent of his three point attempts. Bedford leads the Blazers in scoring this year, averaging 15.5 points per game. Bedford was also named the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
