Belhaven University Athletics

One of this week's "Cellular South Athletes of the Week" is Anthony Doss of the Blazer baseball team. Doss, a junior from Brandon, MS, turned in two clutch performances in the first two games of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament leading Belhaven to a pair of wins. Doss crushed a two out three run homer against Brewton-Parker which sparked a 9-8 come from behind victory.  Doss also turned in solid performances in the final three games of the tournament to help lead Belhaven to the SSAC Championship. For the tournament, Doss hit at a .480 clip and was named the SSAC Tournament MVP as well as being named the SSAC Player of the Week. On the season, Doss is hitting .340 with 48 hits in 141 at bats.
