Buck Boyd enters his second year as head coach for
the Belhaven College Men’s and
Women’s Tennis teams.
A Kentucky native, Boyd moved to Mississippi in 1983 to help with a family-owned
manufacturing business. He began teaching tennis in 1980, being mentored by
John Callen, former USTA President and Executive Director of the Southern
Section. He followed up by playing tennis for his hometown college team in
Kentucky.
Boyd has been teaching tennis for over 25 years, and is currently the
Head Teaching Pro at Castlewoods Country Club and an Assistant Teaching Pro at
the Ridgeland Tennis Center. He is a USPTR cerified teaching pro and a member
of the USPTA, USTA, and USRSA.
“I thoroughly enjoy the players, students, and faculty at Belhaven College
and the atmosphere here”, said Buck. “Belhaven College gives me a chance to
share my faith in the Lord in an athletic environment.” |
