"Gabe has a lot of technical ability and will be an added force to our forward line”

Samuel Antwi

"This is the second year I have tried to get Sam into the US.  If we can get a visa secured for him, he will come in and compete for a starting spot on the outside for us.”

Daniel Bond
-Madison, AL
-Home Schooled
-Alabama ODP
-Central Back
-Hunstville Soccer Club – Coach John Tesema
-Father and Mother Alumni of Belhaven
"Daniel is just what Belhaven is looking for in an all around athlete.  He has very good grades, has played at good level in AL and comes with a very spiritually mature head on his shoulder.  I see Daniel contributing to our program in many areas, beside on the soccer pitch.”

DeCarlos Baker
-Franklin, TN
-Centennial High School
-Striker
“I believe that DeCarlos will impact lives off the pitch,” said Head Coach Marty Shirley.  “He will also be an important striker for us now and the future.  I expect to see great things out of DeCarlos.”

Andre’ Bush
-Tuscaloosa, AL
-Paul W. Bryant HS
-Outside Midfielder
"Andre is a physical specimen.  He is very aggressive, has great speed and has a very good defensive mid set.  He will fit well in our style of play.  He will give us a very good defensive posture in the midfield, especially on the weak side of the pitch.”

Jonathan Eastman
-Byron, GA
-Midfielder
"Jonathan is very intelligent and will be walking on to the team.  He will add to our already well establish heritage of good team academics.  He will get a lot of time on our reserve side.”

Francisco Equiguren
-Ecuador
-Mid-Continent University Transfer
-Outside Right Back
"He is a very fast and hard tackling player.  He is coming out of a very good NAIA program that was ranked in the top 25 last year.  He will come in fighting for a starting spot on the pitch.”

Fabio Fagundes
-Brazil
-Mid-Continent University Transfer
-Central Midfielder
"Fabio will give us depth to our already strong central play.  He has very good vision on the field and is a good safe passer.  I look for Fabio to bring spiritual leadership to the team as well.”

Alex Freel
-Macon, GA
"Alex is very smart player and will be enrolled in our honors college.  He will be walking on to the team.  He will add to our already well establish heritage of good team academics.  He will get a lot of time on our reserve side.”

Michael Guderian
-Covington, LA
-Northlake Christian HS
-Utility Player
"He is a very versatile player.  I see him coming in and be a great asset as a utility player for us.  He led his high school team in scoring and also was moved back on the field against tougher opponents when securing victories defensively.   He plays very good up front as well as in the back.”

Alan Hannon
-Offaly County, Dublin, Ireland
-Colastie Ide
-Left Inside Back
"He played on the first side and was very effective as an outside left back.  He is technically sound and has very good vision up field.  He is very tenacious and wins most 50/50 situations.  Alan has a good shot at starting, but will need to come in and prove himself at the college level.”

David Harbaugh
-Athens, Ohio
-Mission Field in Chile
-Home Schooled
-Striker
"David can flat out score goals.  If he is left alone he makes every team pay for leaving him unmarked. He will come in and learn the college game and pattern play.  He is very smart and is very mature in his faith.  I see him becoming a very good goal scorer.  He gives us a different look at this position.”

Jonathan Hayes
-Leister County, Dublin, Ireland
-Colastie Ide
-Rightsided player (back or midfield)
"Jonathan’s greatest asset is he has deft touch.  He serves very good balls in from the flank and has a great defensive presence.  He likes to get involved in the attack and thrives on serving great balls into his targets.  He will give us very good play from this side of the pitch, like he has done for the first team in Ireland.”

John Keheo
-Laois County, Dublin, Ireland
-Colaiste Ide
-Attacking Central Midfielder
"John is very quick with the ball and has an excellent outside shot.  He was a starter for the first team, which use to include Belhaven standout David McKay.  John will be joining forces once again with David to secure and hold down the center of the pitch.”

Kevin Kreft
-Union, KY
-TC United
-Calvary Christian HS
-Midfielder
"Kevin is a very crafty player and has had good coaching.  He fits perfectly into our program and will be a great asset to our team in many areas, academically, athletically and spiritually.  Kevin has good work ethic and will give the team everything he has to offer.”

Anthony O’Neill
-Galway County, Dublin, Ireland
-Colaiste Ide
-Central Midfielder
"Anthony is a very serious player and student.  He is constantly a student of the game and loves to be a leader.  He too played for the first team and was always in the mix when games were on the line.  He is tenacious and has fairly good distribution form the center of the pitch.  I look for him to get plenty of playing time and spot start for us.”

Jefferey Parker
-Ridgeland, MS
-Ridgeland High School
-Utility Player in HS
“Allen’s participation in the CJSO has permitted him to play ball at a very high level and to receive excellent instruction under Coach MacGregor,” said Blazer Head Coach Marty Shirley.  “He is a flat out hard worker, and he is very tenacious and skillful.  These qualities, I feel, will allow him to make a smooth transition into our style of play."

James Poole
-Mandeville, LA
-Mandeville HS
-Utility Player in HS
"James has been played in every position, except goalkeeper.  He is best I believe as an outside midfielder or wing player.  He has a nose for the goal and loves to put the ball in the back of the net.”

Michael Preston
-Palm Bay, FL
-Home Schooled
-Outside Back
"
Michael has been playing soccer for Covenant Christian School's Varsity team.  His first love for soccer was on a mission trip to Romania when we played with the locals everynight. He is a defensive player. He served as team captain his senior year. Michael is a very strong student and wants to major in Religious Studies.  He will be a great benefit to our program due to his excellence in these two areas.  He is a very physical defender and loves to stand strikers up in 1v1 situations.”

Jonathan Reed
-Pineville, LA
-Pineville HS
-Goalkeeper
-2006 All-Cenla player of the year
-Division II, District 2 2nd team goalkeeper
"Jonathan will be a two sport student-athlete at Belhaven College.  He will have duty with the football team as well as the men’s soccer team.  He is a very good athlete.  He excels in sport.  While in HS, he also wrestled and played baseball.  I look for Jonathan to give us depth at this position as a freshman and learning the high speed college game.  He will be a great asset to Belhaven College athletics.”

Daniel Richey
-Pelhalm, AL
-Pelhalm High School
-Midfield
"I am very excited about having Daniel in my program", said Head Coach Marty Shirley.   "He is a Godly young man and has a passion to serve the Lord with his athletic abilities.  He will be a great addition to our program.
I have known the family for sometime and even recruited his brother to play for me in the past.  I am excited about finally having the Richie family a part of one of my programs."

Neil Scott
-Pascagoula, MS
-Junior College transfer – Meridian CC
"Neil is a 6’3” striker that has had a good college career thus far.  Neil will be a very good target player for us up top.  He can possess ball well and is a very unselfish player.  He will be a good addition to our striker line for 06”

Dart Spiers
-Long Beach, MS
-Long Beach HS
-Central Midfield
"Dart has had a good career at HS and I look for him to continue with us at Belhaven.  He has a very good defensive disposition as a midfielder and will give us a much needed second line of defense.  He is good in the classroom and fits the Blazer profile.”

Stephen Stuart
-Clinton, MS
-Southern Mississippi transfer
-Former Clinton HS, goalkeeper
-Goalkeeper
"Stephen is a good leader and hates to loose.  He will bring a very strong work level to our practices.  Affectingly known as “Red”, Red will push our goalkeeping group as iron sharpens iron.”

Ashley Thorpe
-Northamptonshire, England
-Sports-Ed – Coach Jamie Bennett
-Goalkeeper
-6’2” 185 lbs
-Wales HS
"Ashley comes from a very good program at Sports-Ed.  He will be coming in fighting for the top goalkeeper spot, since Matthew Paschal, Pearl HS graduate, finished his 4 years of eligibility in 05.  It will be tough shoes to fill, since Matt held the post all 4 years of his career.  This position on the field is up for grabs.  I have 5 guys all fighting for the position.  I feel Ashley has a strong chance at minding our net.  He will have to come in and battle it out in August.”

Sergei Yepishin
-Pensacola, FL
-Pensacola FC
-Escambia HS
-Striker
"During high school he scored 56 goals in four years on varsity and had more then 30 assists.  This year he was named on the All State team and All Star team from his region. Sergei is originally from Russia.  He comes to Belhaven looking to make a mark on the team.  He is a very mature young man and knows what he wants.  He is very goal orientated.  He is a proven goal scorer and has done so both on his club team and high school team.  As I have strengthened our defense, Sergei will be an added touch to our top line.  I believe he will make an immediate impact on the field for us with his speed up top and his ability to score, but most importantly he has great character and is fired up for the Lord.  He will make a bigger impact for the kingdom in this area.  I am excited about what Sergei has to offer Belhaven’s program.”
