KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Nikita Lisov and
Jefferson Nino of the Belhaven men's tennis team were both awarded with NAIA All-American Honors when the national office released the teams on Monday afternoon. Lisov was placed on the second team and Nino was an honorable mention selection.
Lisov, a junior from Moscow, Russia, finished 10-8 in singles matches this season and was 10-9 in doubles matches. Lisov played the majority of the season in the number one position and faced some of the toughest competition in the country throughout the course of the year.
Nino, a sophomore from Bogota, Columbia, was 14-4 in 2013 and primarily occupied the number two spot in the singles lineup this season. Nino had an identical 14-4 record in doubles play as well. Nino along with Lisov led the Blazers to the round of 16 in the NAIA National Championships.
Belhaven finished the season with a record of 16-5 and made its second consecutive appearance in the NAIA National Tournament field. The official NAIA press release and the complete list of All-Americans can be viewed by clicking
