Calvin Nominated as a Finalist for 2009 Conerly Trophy

Jackson, MS-Belhaven wide receiver Cordario Calvin has been selected as one of ten finalists for the 2009 Cellular South Conerly Trophy given each year to the top college football player in the state of Mississippi.

Calvin, a junior from Greenville, MS, led the Blazers in scoring and receiving with 12 touchdown catches and 85 total receptions. Calvin finished the year with 1,028 yards while averaging 93.5 yards per game receiving this season. He is only the seventh Blazer to go over 1,000 yards in a season and is now second in school history for most catches in a season with 85.

The 2009 Cellular South Conerly Trophy will be presented on Monday November 30, at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Jackson, MS.
