Jackson, MS-The Belhaven College volleyball team fell to the Tigers of Jackson State University in four sets 22-25, 18-25, 25-19, and 19-25 on Tuesday night in Rugg Arena. The Blazers fought hard against Jackson State but could only overpower the Tigers in the third game of the contest. Belhaven falls to an overall record of 15-17.

The Blazers were led on the offensive side of the net by Christina Jaques with 11 kills followed by Kourtney Clark with eight kills. Christina Atwood and Taylor Williams both contributed six kills each. Freshmen setter Erin Bradley paced the Blazers with 31 assists. Erin Bradley led Belhaven with three aces followed by Atwood, Clark, Erin Hampton, and Jessica Akiona who each added one ace.

Clark and Williams led Belhaven on the defensive side of the net with 11 digs each followed by Sam O’Malley with nine digs. Jaques and Atwood had two blocking assists and one solo block respectively. Williams contributed three blocking assists for the Blazers.

The Blazers will once again have home court advantage Friday night as they battle with the Majors of Millsaps College in Rugg Arena. The first serve is slated or 7:00 PM
