Jackson, MS-The Belhaven Athletics department is pleased to announce the 2010 women's volleyball schedule. Belhaven is coming off a 2009 campaign that saw the team make big strides as the program continues to build. Belhaven doubled their wins in the 2009 season and finished the year with an 18-20 overall record. The Blazers finished tied for third with Dillard University at 5-5 in the always tough Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and made it to the GCAC Tournament semifinals. The Blazers open the regular season against Xavier University of Louisiana on Saturday August 28th at 3:00 PM. Belhaven will play a second game that day against Alabama State University starting at 5:30 PM as part of the Xavier University Tri-Match.

Mobile, AL-The Belhaven volleyball team advanced to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals on Friday by splitting a pair of matches in pool play to keep the 2009 season alive. The Blazers opened the tournament with a tough loss to Loyola University 3-0 with final set scores of 19-25, 20-25, and 23-25. However, Belhaven regrouped with a 3-0 victory over Southern University at New Orleans in the day’s second match to move on to the semifinals. The final set scores in the SUNO match were 25-19, 25-18, and 25-19.

Mobile, AL-The Belhaven volleyball team heads to Mobile Alabama this weekend for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by the University of Mobile. The Blazers enter the tournament with an overall record of 17-18 and finished the season tied for third at 5-5 in the GCAC. Belhaven finished the season strong having won seven of their last ten games which included an upset of Loyola University on October 20th.

Jackson, MS-After two straight wins, The Belhaven College volleyball team was overpowered by the University of Mobile in three games 17-25, 19-25, and 20-25 on Thursday night in Rugg Arena. Belhaven falls to an overall record of 17-18 and 5-5 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Belhaven fought hard the entire match, but the Rams proved to be too much for the Blazers.
