Jackson, MS-The Belhaven softball team will be hosting the Mustard Seed Fundraising Fishing Tournament on Saturday October 17th at the Ross Barnett Reservoir. Proceeds from the event will go to help Mustard Seed and the Lady Blazer softball program.

Starkville, MS-Belhaven softball player Britney Webb has been selected by the NFCA as the NAIA recipient of the 2009 Adidas Golden Shoe Award. The NFCA and Adidas present the award annually to the top base stealer from NFCA member schools in each of the following divisions: NCAA (Divisions I, II and III), NAIA, NJCAA (Divisions I, II and III), Cal JC, Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) and high school.

Jackson, MS-Current Belhaven All-American 3rd baseman Tiffany Ansley has earned a spot on this year’s Puerto Rican National Softball Team. Ansley will participate with the Puerto Rican team in the upcoming VII Pan American Softball Championship for Women held in Maracay, Venezuela July 31st through August 9th. A total of 22 countries including the United States will participate in this year’s event.

Jackson, MS-Head Coach Rick Fremin and the Belhaven softball program would like to announce the addition of four veteran players for the 2010 campaign. Rebecca Rousseau, Christina Jaques, Rachel Wright, and Sarah Burns have decided to further their education and softball careers at Belhaven College. Each player brings valuable experience at the collegiate level to the 2010 Lady Blazers. Rousseau, Jaques, Wright, and Burns join incoming freshman Katie Sanders, Lizzy Hess, Rian O’Bannon, and Megan Timbs in this year's recruiting class.

Jackson, MS-Current Belhaven All-American 3rd baseman Tiffany Ansley has been invited to tryout out for the Puerto Rican National Team for the second consecutive year. Ansley will be departing from Miami, FL for Puerto Rico this week with hopes of earning a spot on the team.

Jackson, MS-It was a record breaking year for the Belhaven softball team in 2009 as the team broke 26 various national and school records in route to a 36-19 record. The 36 wins by the Lady Blazers sets a new school record for most victories in a season and it was the second time in four years that the previous record has been eclipsed. Belhaven also received votes in the NAIA Top 25 Poll throughout the entire 2009 campaign and has reached at least 30 wins in each of the last four seasons.

Starkville, MS-Senior Mallory Meadows and senior Britney Webb of the Belhaven softball team earned 2009 Louisville Slugger NFCA All-American honors in the NAIA division when the awards were recently announced by National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Meadows was selected as a First Team All-American while Webb was chosen as a Second Team All-American.
