New Orleans, La-The Belhaven women’s basketball team fell to 19th ranked Xavier University in the quarterfinals of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday night 69-61 in New Orleans. Belhaven came together in the second half to tie the score after trailing by as many as 12 points in the final period, but Xavier made some key baskets down the stretch to pull away for the win.

Jackson, MS-The Belhaven women’s basketball team snapped a seven game skid Monday night with a 67-57 win over Dillard University in the play in round of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament at Rugg Arena. The Blazers won all three meetings with Dillard this season and move on to face top seeded Xavier University of New Orleans on the road Wednesday night.

Mobile, AL-The Belhaven women’s basketball team fell to Spring Hill College on the road Thursday night in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action 53-51 and was the first GCAC win for the Badgers this season. The Blazers had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but a field goal attempt by Jira Williams was off the mark as Spring Hill held on for the win. Belhaven had prevailed 74-72 in Overtime against Spring Hill in the first matchup of the season on January 25th.
