Hattiesburg, MS-In a battle for sole possession of second place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, the Belhaven men’s basketball team fell to William Carey University 98-88 on Monday night in Hattiesburg. The game was dominated by both offenses as each team drilled over 50 percent of their shots from the field. Rob Wallace and Nathaniel Roche’ had 21 points and 19 points respectively for the Blazers, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to overcome William Carey.

Jackson, MS-The Belhaven men’s basketball team earned a much needed 82-73 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference victory over Dillard University on Saturday night in Rugg Arena. The Blazers had lost their last three games coming into the game and were reeling a bit after jumping out to a 7-0 start in the conference. Belhaven got a big lift from Tensley Cowan who poured in a season high 24 points and 14 rebounds for his second double double of the year.

Shreveport, LA-The Belhaven men’s basketball team lost for the third straight time on Thursday night falling at 5th ranked LSU-Shreveport in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Action 70-62. Free throw shooting played a big role in the outcome of the game as the Blazers struggled at the line making only 15 of their 27 attempts. On the other hand, the Pilots cashed in on 70.3 percent of their shots at the stripe including 18 of 25 in the second half. In the first meeting of the season between Belhaven and LSUS, it was the Pilots who hurt themselves at the line which helped the Blazers pull out a two point 67-65 win back on January 14th.
