Jackson, MS-Belhaven University is pleased to announce the 2010 football schedule which features five home games this fall. The Blazers will open the 2010 season at Texas College on Saturday August 28th beginning at 6:00 PM. Belhaven will also renew its rivalry with Mississippi College in a contest against the Choctaws slated for September 11th at Mississippi College.

Jackson, MS-The Belhaven football program will be hosting a golf tournament fundraiser on April 17th at the Refuge Golf Course in Jackson. It will be a four person scramble with a shotgun start. The cost is $500 per team which includes cart, green fees, and lunch. Opportunities for cart and tee box sponsorships are also available. Jackson, MS-First year Head Coach Joe Thrasher and the Belhaven football team got things rolling in the right direction in 2009 as the Blazers finished the year with an overall record of 6-5 and took second place in the Mid-South Conference Western Division with a mark of 4-2. It was the programs first winning season since 2006 and a vast improvement over the teams 2-9 finish in 2008.

Anchorage, Alaska-Former Belhaven quarterback Andrew Carcich recently signed a contract for the 2010 season with the Indoor Football League’s Alaska Wild in Anchorage Alaska. Carcich, a native of St. Martin, MS, was an assistant coach for the Blazers this past fall.
