Matt Collins begins his first year as Head coach with the Golf Team next
season. He hails from Jackson, MS
where he attended Jackson Prep. While at Prep, Collins lettered on the
golf team starting in 8th grade and was a member of the State
AAA Championship team in 1997.
After high school, Collins attended Delta State
University in Cleveland, MS where he played golf for 31/2 years. While
at DSU, his career tournament best was a 73 at the Derrell Foreman
Invitational in 2001 in Cleveland.
During his high school and college years Collins
played in many amateur tournaments around the state including qualifying
for 4 consecutive MS State Amateur Championship tournaments. He is
currently a 3 handicap and enjoys playing golf all around the south
region Collins’ career best round to this point is 71 at the Country
Club of Jackson.
Collins is married to the former Amberly Wilson of
Richland, MS. They currently reside in Flowood, MS. |
