Green vs Gold Saturday

Belhaven College Football is
set to have their annual Green vs Gold Spring game this Saturday,
7:00 PM, at H.T. Newell Field. Catch a preview of the 2008 Blazers
as they have a chance to showcase the hard work and long hours put
in during spring practice.
The Blazers Spring weekend will begin on Thursday
as they host their annual golf tournament at Patrick Farms Golf
Course. The format is a 4 man scramble with hole-in-one, longest
drive, and closest to the pin prizes. For more details

of players from Terry High School.
Deondre
Allen (DB), Javion Johnson (DB), TJ Milton (WR) will all be sporting
Green and Gold next season.
Bohanan Inks With
Blazers

Joshua Bohanan, a
5"10, 180 lb. senior quarterback at Jefferson High School, signed
with Belhaven College in Jackson, Miss., on Friday. Bohanan, a
two-year starter, completed nearly 65 percent of his passes this
past season, helping the Dragons to an 8-4 record. His stats
included 147 completions out of 231 attempts, 14 touchdowns and only
two interceptions with 1,686 yards through the air. He was team
co-captain and MVP, and was named All-Region, as well as first-team
Northeast Georgia and honorable mention all state. He is shown at
the signing with his parents, David and Connie Bohanan, and younger
brother, Jared.

Cody Goulart a 6'3, 290 LB,
offensive lineman has signed with the Blazers. Cody had a very
successful high school career where he anchored the offensive line
at Tioga High School in Tioga, LA. Cody was selected to the 4A
All-State Team as well as All-Region. Cody is the Son of John and
Cindy Goulart. "We expect very big things from Cody as he starts his
Belhaven College career," said Roy Thompson, assistant football
coach and recruiting coordinator.

The Belhaven Blazers
Football Team got a jump on the 2008 Freshman Class as they signed
Chris Cunningham out of Raymond High School. Cunningham a 6'0", 265
pound senior, anchored the offensive line for the Rangers in 2008.
"We are proud to have a player like Chris choose Belhaven," said Roy
Thompson, Belhaven Football Recruiting Coordinator. "He will be a
great addition to our football team and he should have a very bright
future as a member of the program."

2007 Daktronics/NAIA Scholar Athlete. "In
order to be a recipient of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete
award, one must fulfill these requirements: the recipient must
be a junior or above in academic standing; has been in
attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full
year of attendance; has a minimum grade point average (GPA) of
3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of nomination at the
nominating institution; has been certified as eligible."

Football Schedule

The Belhaven
College Athletics
Department has announced the 2008 football schedule. The Blazers
will host 5 games at H.T. Newell Field. In addition to hosting city
rival Millsaps, the Blazers will host Mid-South Conference foes
Faulkner University, West Virginia Tech., Cumberland University, and
Lambuth University. The blazers will travel to meet the University
of West Alabama, Concordia College, Bethel College, Shorter College,
Campbellsville University, and Union College.
